The Red Front has been quiet over the Christmas period, there have still been some updates from the front lines.

The German Reich has been busy developing new war machines to better combat the Soviet Super Tank. The latest addition to their arsenal is the Nazi Super Tank.
Our engineers have also been hard at work to improve audio reception. The Tank Commander now has select sounds relayed to their headset. This will assist with battlefield tactics.
We suspect that there will be more improvements to come over the next few weeks.

New Features Added:

The Germans have been hard at work to create additional tanks to combat the Soviet Super Tank, they have invested heavily in their own technology.
While not as powerful, the new Nazi tanks will be sure to deal copious amounts of damage.

The Advent of Sound:
Audio has started to make an appearance into the game, starting with gun shots and soon to work on to engine noise, ambient and more.

More will be added over the coming weeks, Christmas has slowed development but will again be ramping up now we’re in the new year.

Nazi Super Soldiers, Guerilla Warfare and Objectives

A Battle in the Trees against German Forces

Reports have come in that the German Reich has been genetically engineering their soldiers to create a new breed of Super Soldier. Our spies have verified these mutant soldiers have enhanced strength, speed and increased pain tolerance. They have been seen lifting immense weapons and will be a force on the battlefield.
We’ve refined our Guerilla Warfare tactics for the super tank, we are now able to crash through the forest and ambush the Nazi army. Be warned that if you are not driving fast enough, you will get stuck on the trees.

The Nazi’s have also learnt of several weak points along the Red Front. You will need to protect these points, be warned that the Reich will be expending considerable resources to destroy these. If they are destroyed we will certainly lose the battle; if not the war.

New Features Added:

Nazi Super Soldier:
The Nazi Super Solider is a result of the Nazi genetic engineering program. These soldiers are stronger, faster and can take a lot more damage on the battlefield. They should be destroyed as a priority.

Enemy Objectives:
The Enemy soldiers now have an objective to destroy, they will be targeting gates, buildings, cars or any other important structures critical to their side of the war effort.
Loss of these structures may result in mission failure. Enemies will ignore their objective and attack/chase the player if they are too close.

Destructible Trees / Environments:
The Super Tank can now run over trees, but will be slowed upon doing so. If the tank isn’t going fast enough it will get stuck and just shake the tree. Enemies will be able to follow the player through any forest paths cleared.

Player Lives:
The player will now only have three lives per level. If you die three times you will fail the mission. Score multipliers are also reset upon death for additional penalty.

Additional Changes:

  • Removed player missile splash damage from hurting player.
  • Enemies and the player now shoot in a randomised cone, making it more realistic and possible for both the enemies and player to miss.
  • Enemies now have a set agro range, they will engage the player and ignore the objective if the player comes too close.
  • Complete overhaul of player bullet damage and firing speed, creating more variety in weapon upgrade levels.
  • Player Tank can now turn on the spot for more realistic tank-style movement.
  • Minigun added to player tank, bullets now originate from the minigun. This leaves the main barrel reserved for rocket firing only.
  • Changed graphic of base bullet, the function remains unchanged.


New Media:

Alpha preview video showing the enemy path update upon destruction of the trees. This displays a grid mesh update to let the enemy AI know they are able to enter the area.

Bunkers, Upgrades and Redesigns

The Red Army’s super tank has had an array of new components designed to allow for improved combat capability against the Germans. Reinforcements have also been deployed to The Red Front to help protect our most vital assets.

New Features Added:

Upgrade Shop and Rubles:
The Upgrade Shop allows the Tank Commander to purchase improvements for their Super Tank when they collect enough Rubles. Rubles are awarded for completion missions and any bonuses along the way.

Engine Boost Heat Change:
The system of a “press to use” temporary speed boost has been removed. This has been replaced with an “Engine Heat” system. Holding the boost key will greatly accelerate the player, but will cause the engine to gain heat. If it overheats, the boost will be unavailable and it will take considerable time for the engine to cool down again.

Life System:
The player will now only have 3 lives per mission, if they run out of lives they lose the level. On Survival the player only has a single life.

The Soviet bunker has been deployed to the battle field, the bunker will provide support for the Tank Commander and will be used in critical soviet locations to reinforce defence.

Additional Changes:

  • Player tank is now able to rotate on the spot.
  • Enemy Health and Global Damage changes – The system has been overhauled to allow for expansion on current weapon abilities.
  • No more exploding soldiers – As fun as it was, so many on-screen explosions became vomit-inducing.
  • Bleed effects – Enemy soldiers now also bleed instead of catch on fire when hurt, making it a bit more realistic.
  • Enemy Arc Shooting – Enemies will no longer shoot with pin-point accuracy, their bullets will fire within a small randomised arc with each shot. They will miss more often.
  • Player Drone improvement – The drone (and soviet bunker) will now find enemies who have been within their firing range for extended periods of time.
  • Moscow Redesign – The initial level (and current test level) of Moscow has been redesigned to allow for better gameplay testing.
  • Multiple bug fixes – Rocket infantry shooting two rockets, car headlights remaining on at day time and many more bugs fixed.
  • The player-created rocket will no longer harm the player if they are in the splash damage zone.
  • The score multiplier will now be reset upon player death.
  • The mission will be failed if the player dies 3 times.


Radar and Drone Technology, Mutants and Survival


I bring you news from the Eastern Front. We have recently developed new Radar technology which has been finely tuned to pick up all German Nazi’s within the immediate area.
This will prevent us from having to spend countless hours hunting down dug-in Nazi’s who are hiding from the Red Armies might.
Also on the research front is Drone Technology, you may choose to purchase one to aid you. It will be expensive but will be a massive boon on the front.

We’ve also had a new challenge come to light. It is Survival. All of the recently cleared area’s are once again under Nazi threat and will be constantly bombarded until we can’t hold out any longer. Every subsequent round of soldiers will be tougher and more hardened than the last. This is surely a battle we cannot win, but we will fight until the very end.

On top of this, a lot of bugs have been worked out of our technology but there are always new ones popping up as we develop our capabilities.


New Features Added:
The Radar will show the location of all enemy soldiers, this will assist with finding any stragglers and will help plan the best course of attacking the enemy.

Survival Mode:
Survival mode is a new game mode that can be played once the main story mission has been completed on any given level. You will face an endless onslaught of German Soldiers who will progressively get harder with each new round. Of course for each new round, the score reward increases.

The Nazi’s have been experimenting to create a new breed of super-soldier.
These Mutators can be set on story-mode missions for an extra challenge and will be applied for each new round in Survival Mode. Be careful to not face the strongest soldiers, it would surely be suicide!

Players will be able to purchase a drone to follow them into combat. The drones are fairly powerful, they contribute to your score and are a must-have endgame item. The drones will follow you and attack any Nazi which gets near your tank.

Luftwaffe spotted in Russia

The Luftwaffe have been spotted in Russia!

The German Light Bomber has been added into the game, this won’t be appearing in the early missions due to the amount of damage it can inflict upon the battlefield.
You will be able to shoot the plane down out of the sky, or attempt to dodge it’s bombs.

Be warned that it will have a considerable amount of health. These are also likely to come in packs to catch the player. Shooting one down will give a considerable boost to your in-game score.
